Day 2:Ecological Viewpoints, Anakiwi River and Canopy Zip-Line 150 meter

  • 1-hour walk – to the crystal clear River of Añaquiwi – swim and relax – alone in nature.
  • 30min walk – Situlli Ecolodge – Canopy Zip-Line 150 meter of distance (optional)
  • Lunch at the lodge.
  • 30 min walk to Ecological Viewpoints and Sculpture Trail ‘Monument Of The Jungle.’
  • Walking down to San Roque.
  • Dinner at the village.

Day 3: Huacamaillo Waterfall (4-hour walk.)

  • Short journey in a motor taxi to San Antonio De Cumbaza.
  • 2-hour walk crossing 3 rivers to waterfall Huacamaillo.
  • Picnic lunch in nature.
  • 2-hour walk back to San Antonio – sample local village wine.
  • Overnight stay at Sachaqa Centro De Arte

Day 4: Amazon River Trip – Cacao Island – Jumanchi springs.

  • Early morning start 1 hour 30 minutes drive to Chazuta.
  • Breakfast at Joyce V Barter cultural center.
  • Journey along the River Huallaga to an island that grows 6 hectors of cacao.  Enjoy the cacao island beach.
  • A little further down river to the land of Jumanchi – short walk 45 minutes to the small river pools and waterfalls. 
  • picnic lunch in nature.
  • Journey back to Chazuta.
  • Dinner at Rio Bosque Magico, food collected from their own garden, highly recommended. 
  • Overnight stay at Joyce V Barter cultural center.

Day 1: San Roque De Cumbaza – local ceramics or chumbe weaving.

  • Quechua Lamista village of Chunchiwi (1 half hour walk.)
  • Workshops in basic ceramics or chumbe weaving.
  • Lunch in the village traditional dishes.
  • Sachaqa Centro De Arte – you will stay at an ecological art center and feel a part of our Sachaqa artist community.

Day 2: Lamas

  • Lamas:  Castle of Lamas.
  • Waycu native quarters – where you can buy artisan goods and local foods – see traditional dances.
  • Short drive to the Indigenous village of Chiricyacu – sample traditional dishes.
  • Workshops in basic ceramics or chumbe weaving.
  • Walk back to San Roque – 1hour 30mins.
  • Overnight stay at Sachaqa Centro De Arte.

Day 3: San Roque De Cumbaza – traditional dishes

  • Learn how to make a local dish called Juane (rice dish cooked in a leaf,) with local women who pass this knowledge from generation to generation.  Most women who grew up in the Jungle know how to make this traditional dish.
  • Sample your juane with together with a coconut cerviche.
  • Relax in the afternoon on the many beaches around the River Cumbaza.
  • Overnight stay in Sachaqa Art Center.

Day 5: Chazuta: Amazon River Trip

  • Journey by boat for half an hour to the community of Shilcayo
  • Visit a honey colony of small stingless bees called ‘Ramichi’  – learn how to harvest the honey.  Amazon stingless bee honey is characterised by a very runny consistency, a very light color and a flowery fragrance; its flavor is sweet but can vary according to the season it is produced in and the flower or flowering tree types it is made from.
  • you can also lean how to make traditional baskets in the village of Shilcayo.
